You’re here for A good time.

Top Shelf can help.

How to Play Your First Game

Win two of the three rounds. How? Score more points in each round than your compadre.

Start by grabbing six bags in whichever color you choose and standing five feet from the board.

The bottom shelves are worth 1 point.
The middle shelves are worth 3 points.
The top shelf is worth 5 points.

Which of you is younger? You’re up first; buckle up. Alternate tossing your bags until you’ve both thrown all six.

Easy enough, right? There’s a catch. If you each have the same number of bags on a shelf, neither of you gets the points.

Here’s the fun part. If you have more bags than your counterpart on a shelf, you get all the points.

Tally up the points to see which of you took the first round. Who was it? Way to go, champ.

Since you won the round, you pitch first the next round.

Run that back until one of you wins two out of three rounds.

In the rare event of a tie, it’s sudden death: alternate tosses, but only the top shelf counts. You know what to do!

After your first three games, you’re ready to take on the most skilled Top Shelf players.

Official Rules

You only need two changes.

First, instead of playing to win a round, you’re keeping a running score over all three rounds. Win by having the most points after all three rounds. Simple enough, right?

Second, there’s a sizable bonus. Have a bag on each of the five shelves when the round ends for an additional ten points. You don’t have to win each shelf.

Wondering what the extra bags are for?

Four Player Game

If you have others who want to get in on the fun, here’s how to play a team game. Each team member plays with four bags. You still alternate throws, but teams decide in what order each member tosses. Get creative.

Top Shelf is addicting.
